The Sanctuary
Newport is currently home to about 450 asylum seekers and a
larger number of refugees. Here at The Sanctuary we show care and concern in a
practical way by supporting people from
refugee and asylum seeker communities. We do this by building friendships, by
restoring a sense of belonging and community and by providing practical and
emotional support.
Additional Services
We also seek to provide other services to our community including a Parent and Toddler group.
Cymru Against Human Trafficking
The UN reports that Human Trafficking is the fastest growing international crime - and one of the largest sources of income for organised crime. We aim to raise awareness of human trafficking and its impact on our local community by working with agencies involved in the fight against trafficking and by providing literature and education, particularly to local schools. We seek to support trafficked victims where we can.
